Good news

The LDS church's office from Germany has approved to finance our requested project which consists in the rebuilt of the drying shelter and a new washing machine for the hospital. Funds will be available through Elder R.Wolsey from Bucharest.
Now the next step is to find a great summer team.

Meeting with elder Wolsey and Sister Vicky

Yesterday I met Elder Randy Wolsey and Sister Vicky Wolsey, directors for humanitarian services for Romania of the LDS church from Bucharest. They have come to Romania about a year ago, from Canada, and will stay till end of August. We had a good time together,as I have showed them around.
We have visited the village of Mina 1 Mai, especially the hospital: the new OT building, the laundry, the kitchen, the dining room, the sewing ladies room, the club, some wards, and seen the collapsed shelter at the back of the hospital. We met quite a few staff and finally we had a meeting with the head nurse.
Elder Wolsey said that they will submit to the office from Germany the project of the repairing of the drying area using new and stronger materials to resist, and he plans to make a drawing project of it too. Also part of the project it will be the purchasing of a (semi) proffessional washing machine which can wash up to 10kg of laundry in 30 minutes. They have bought a similar one before in Tulcea and those people were very pleased with it.
Elder Wolsey also offered to come again and dismantle together the old structure of the drying area and to see what are the materials which can be still used for the new project.
We rely on the help of the NNRT members for the summer to build the new shelter. If all will go well, all the materials for the new shelter wil be purchased prior to the team's arrival.
