NNRT visit over

I think the visit of NNRT was a real success this summer. It is because we did not had the hassle of previous years and whatever we wanted to achieve we all achieved.
Most of the shopping were done in the local Dedeman shop from Brasov. We built the new chothes drying area with roof on it, at the back of the hospital and the hospital staff is thankful for it.
For a week joined us the Mormon team from UK, and one day we had the visit of their missionaries from Brasov who spent good time with patients. The Mormon team erected the canvas tent on the side of our flat building.
Peter has bought a vertical drill machine which proved to be very useful. All the structure was fitted with nuts and bolts. We finally fitted 8 washing lines at 45cm distance from each other and all at the lenght of 18 m. This means a total of 144 m washing line. I think that is great!
Vanessa cooked us every day, we had very good meals, especially the chicken made with the secret reciepe was absolutely fantastic!
All the boys worked very hard and a special thank you for all the team members: Peter T, John R, John H, Steven F, Piers L, Chester and Vanessa of course.
We also fitted a new big window at the sewing ladies workshop, Peter installed a new computer at the head nurse's office, a new ladder was fitted in the balcony for emergency use, gave sweets for the patients, car parts bought, fitted and repaired.
We also had time to socialize, been at Manitiu's place for a meal, and been in Tarlungeni at Grand Hotel Ciucas.
While we were working at the hospital area, a local road construction company repaired the road and laid tarmac on it, up to the hospital. This is financed ny the local mayor's office.

07 July 2010

Thank you,

for the greetings, for my birthday!

Visit to Mina today

Did the shopping of food for the team from Metro and Plus, delivered all the shopping to Mina 1 Mai.
Discussions with the head nurse and with the school caretaker.
The flat is going to look nicer as it is now being decorated by John. He said that tomorrow it will be finished. See the ceiling especially.
Another thing: it is possible that the Dutch people will finance the roof of the flat.
Vanessa asked me to put some water freezing. My question is are you sure for freezing? Or rather to be heated up? today so far we had 18 C and raining!
All the NNRT boxes are now in the flat.
Than I was in Vulcan and checked the accommodation at Manitiu's.

Arrived home safely from Bulgaria

It was OK, but the weather could have been better. We had a chance to visit besides Albena, the Golden Sands, Chaika, St. Constantine and Helen, and of course, Varna. We have been at the same place like last year, and the children loved the swimming pools. Some photos here above.

1st of July

Brings us bad news:
1. VAT raised from 19% to 24% in Romania
2. Paycuts up to 25% in several state owned companies and...
3. Big flooding in the Moldova region, Eastern part of Romania, after too many heavy raining.
