Lucky Number...

Three men are in the maternity waiting room at Hadassah Hospital in Israel.
A doctor comes in and says to the first man, "Mazel Tov, your wife just gave birth to quadruplets!" The man replied, "Wow, what a coincidence, I live in Kiryat Arbah and arba is four."
Another doctor comes in and says to the second man, "Mazel Tov! Your wife just gave birth to septuplets." The second man replies, "I can't believe it. What a coincidence -- I live in Be'er Sheva, sheva is seven."
Just then, the third man faints and thuds onto the floor. The others rush over to him and one of the doctors is able to revive him. "Sir" he says, "what happened? Are you alright?" The man looks at the doctor and smiles weakly, "I live in Meah Shearim. The neighborhood of a hundred gates."

Mina 1 Mai latest

Had a good visit in Mina 1 Mai. Stoped first at the village surgery, where I had to stop the electrical heating. It was too warm inside even the heaters were on the very minimum. And the power consumption was very high. In less than 5 months it was used as much as I use at home for 15 months. Let's have a try and check it again. Inside the main room it was about 24 C, I think. Just too warm.

Within a week or two the new heating system of the hospital will be finished. In the flat's building it is already running since the end of November. Still, as one radiator from the hallway was removed and not replaced, one pipe has burst and needs replacing. The pipe is very close to the boiler, above the stairs. The flat was OK, but some roof tiles needs replacing.
At the dental surgery I checked the compressor and the dental cart. The measurements I gave to Peter. The pressure gauge of the dental cart was showing the air pressure at both drills, but not showing at the air/water outlet. The compressor needs rubber mount, about 40 cm round or square piece of rubber.

The head nurse informed me about her recent phone conversation with Dr. Grigoriu. Basically, Dr. Grigoriu would like us to continue the electrical rewiring of the hospital and changing of tubes, sockets... Also would like to capture more water streams to increase the water supply.

Also got the information that the house next to the hospital has been regained by the authorities, and the people who live in it, must empty it and leave it, as it will be hospital's property and possibly a new OT room. However they have some time to do it, is not urgent as I understand.

In the past days was very cold in this area, we had even - 20 C, no wonder the pipe has burst, now is getting better yesterday was about -8C, today -5C. But I have a feeling that the winter is not over yet.

Honesty is the best policy....

Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack's minivan and headed north.
After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.
"I realize its terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed," she explained. "I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house."
"Don't worry," Jack said. "We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light."
The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night. Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.
But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.
He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, "Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north AB out 9 months ago?"
"Yes, I do." said Bob "Did you, ER, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?"
"Well, um, yes!," Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out, "I have to admit that I did."
"And did you happen to give her my name instead of telling her your name?"Bob's face turned beet red and he said, "Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I did. Why do you ask?"
"She just died and left me everything."

Damp and mould

Just remembered that in December when we visited the new surgery the walls of the waiting room were full of dampness and mould. Especially under the small window, and on the side of the toilet door, but elsewhere too. I just wonder if there is in UK something, what we could use for treating those walls to get rid of mould and damp. Perhaps in the summer. That would be more than useful. The good news is that the main rooms are fine, there is no dampness at all.

Car cleaning

Had a car cleaning day. Besides the washing, toped up the break fluid, toped up the coolant liquid and the windscreen washer. Checked the oil and the lights. More difficult was to clean the inside as it was frosted ice on all windows. No wonder is very cold over here...
